a.
Find the second moment of area of a L-section
100 x 80 x20 mm about the horizontal and vertical axes passing through the
centre of gravity of section.
b.
Determine the support reaction for the beam
loaded as shown in fig. 1 nad draw BMD and SFD marking the values of various
ordinates.
c.
A concrete block 2 m x 2 m in x-section has self – weight of 90 KN and carries
a vertical downward load of 20 kN at point P and xx-axis but eccentric
about yy-axis. Calculate the distance of P from yy-axis if the maximum pressure
is double the minimum pressure on the section. Also determine these pressures.
d.
Determine the deflection at the centre of simply
supported beam AB loaded with u.d.i of ‘w’ Kn/ m on entire span L EI =
constant
