ES-343: TEACHING OF SOCIAL STUDIES

Note: (i) All the four questions are compulsory.

(ii) All the questions carry equal weightage.

1. Answer the following question in about 600 words:

Discuss various types of instructional inputs for teaching of social studies. Discuss the skills associated with discussion method.

OR

Describe various types of instructional media and its role in social studies.

2. Answer the following question in about 600 words:

What do you mean by cognitive and non - cognitive learning outcomes? Discuss the procedures to evaluate non - cognitive learning outcomes.

OR

What do you mean by environmental degradation? How can environmental degradation be prevented?

3. Answer any four of the following questions in about 150 words each:

(a) Differentiate quantitative and qualitative assessment procedure.

(b) Discuss the impact of poverty and unemployment on Indian economy.

(c) Differentiate between tropical deserts and mid-latitude deserts.

(d) Explain the major characteristics of Harappan culture.

(e) What is time - lines and how it can be utilized in teaching of social studies ?

(f) Discuss the advantages and limitations of project method of teaching social studies.

4. Answer the following question in about 600 words:

As a teacher you are required to prepare question paper in your subject area. Prepare a Blue print of the question paper and develop at least one item each from various types of test items.
