Section –A
1.     Write briefly
a.     Differentiate between positive and negative logic
b.     Realize an AND gate using NOR gates Only.
c.      Give the truth table and logic diagram for half subtractor.
d.     Differentiate between weighted and non weighted code.
e.      Convert (359.32)10 into (?)8.
f.       Explain static and dynamic RAM,
g.     Perform Binary Subtraction using 2’s complement:
11010101  -  11000111
h.     Write note on shift register.
i.       List various application of counters,
j.       What is the function of D flip flop.

a.     Explain why NAND and NOR  are known as universal gates?

b.     Convert the following expression into canonical SOP form”

Y= AB’+B+A’C+ABC

3.     Minimise the following expression with K-map and realize the circuit using NAND  gates.

Y= ∑m(1,4,8,10,12,14)+ ϕ(7,15) where ϕ represents don’t care conditions.

4.     Draw the truth table of full adder. Realise the full adder circuit using nine NAND gates only.

a.     Explain 3:8 decoder circuit

b.     Explain hamming code for error correction.

6.     What is race around condition ? explain the working of master-slave J-K flip flop.

7.     Design a Mod-8 counter using J-K flip flops.
