# Section - A

a)   For function F(A,B,C,D)=Σ(0,1,4,7,8,9,14,15), find the expression for F in POS form.
b)   Draw the block diagram of Full adder using half adders.
c)   Realize the expression  AB+AC+ ABC  using minimum NOR gates only.
d)   Write the merits of NMOS logic family.
e)   Draw the 4-bit parallel to parallel shift register.
f)   Draw the block diagram of a weighted resistor D/A converter.
g)   Differentiate sequential and combinational circuits.
h)   Convert (52.50)  into binary, decimal and hexadecimal numbers.
i)   Compare different A/D converters for speed and complexity.
j)   Show the binary multiplication of 1011 with 1101.
k)   Write all the memories in the ascending order of space capability.
l)   Draw the circuit diagram of 3-input TTL NAND gate.
m)  What is current hogging in digital families?
n)   Draw the circuit diagram of 8:1 MUX using 2:1 MUXs.
o)   Differentiate the magnitude of propagation delay in synchronous and

Q3)    Design BCD to gray converter for digital circuits.

Q4)    Draw and explain priority encoder. What are the applications of priority
encoders?

Q5)    Realize function F=Σ(0,1,4,5,8,9,11,13,15) using NOR gates only.

Q6)    Using T flip-flops, design a 4-bit up down synchronous counter.

Q7)    With the help of block diagram, explain the operation of dual slope A/D converter.

Q8)    With the help of circuit diagram, explain the operation of CMOS NAND gate.

Q9)    With suitable diagram discuss the function of 4-bit serial to parallel shift register.

Q10)  Discuss the function of weighted resistor type D/A converter.

Q11)  Compare different logic families for speed, power dissipation, noise margin and Fan-out.

Q12)  Explain how binary subtraction is done using 9's compliment and 10's
compliment.
